Premium Solid Oak Fireplace Mantel Shelf

Create a warm, natural focal point above your fireplace, log burner or chimney breast with a stunning handmade solid oak fireplace mantel shelf from Daves Hardwood.

Each rustic oak mantel is made to order in our Billericay, Essex workshop from genuine solid air-dried oak. The timber is cut to your chosen length, carefully prepared, treated by hand with a premium wax oil and individually checked before dispatch.

A real show-stopper with its substantial 10cm x 10cm profile, this premium oak fireplace beam gives the appearance of a traditional solid timber mantel while working beautifully in rustic, farmhouse, modern and contemporary interiors.

Every piece of real oak has its own grain, knots, colour variation and natural character, meaning no two mantels are exactly alike.

Solid Oak Throughout

Our fireplace mantels are made from solid oak, not MDF, veneer or hollow box construction.

The air-dried timber provides the weight, strength and natural character you expect from a genuine oak beam mantel, while the machined surface and eased edges give it a clean finish ready for hand-finishing in our workshop.

Whether you are looking for a floating oak mantel shelf, a traditional wooden fireplace mantel, a chunky beam above a log burner or a rustic fireplace shelf for a chimney breast, solid oak creates a timeless look across a wide range of interiors.

Choose Your Finish

Each solid oak mantel is hand-finished with a premium wax oil to enhance the natural grain and character of the timber while helping protect the surface.

Choose from five finishes:

Light Oak
A warm, natural finish that keeps the oak bright and understated.

Rustic Oak
A richer golden-brown tone with a traditional rustic feel.

Medium Oak
A deeper mid-brown finish that brings out the natural grain.

Dark Oak
A deep brown finish for a stronger, more dramatic look.

Ebony
Our darkest finish, creating an almost black-brown appearance while still allowing the oak grain to remain visible.

Because every piece of solid oak has its own natural colour, grain and knots, the final shade may vary slightly from the photographs shown.

Fixtures & Fittings

Fixtures and fittings are not included.

This listing is for the solid oak mantel shelf only.

Brackets, concealed fixings, screws, wall plugs and other installation hardware are not supplied.

You will need to choose a suitable fixing method for your wall type and intended installation. If you are unsure, we recommend using a competent installer who can select appropriate fixings for the wall construction and weight of the mantel.

Natural Rustic Oak Character

One of the main reasons people choose a solid oak fireplace beam is its natural character.

Your mantel may feature:

• Knots
• Grain variation
• Colour variation
• Natural checking
• Small splits
• Surface character
• Tonal variation

These characteristics are part of genuine oak and help make every mantel unique.

Natural checking and movement can continue over time as solid timber responds to changes in temperature and humidity.
